Man arrested for allegedly shooting a man in Hawkinsville, sheriff's office says

They say the shooting happened in the early hours of Jan. 14 on Pitts Road.

HAWKINSVILLE, Ga. — A man was arrested on Tuesday in connection to a shooting in Hawkinsville.

31-year-old Thomas Douglas Arnold was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during a felony, according to a press release from the Houston County Sheriff's Office.

They say the shooting happened on Jan. 14 at around 1:22 a.m. at 206 Pitts Road in Hawkinsville. That's just off of Golden Isles Parkway.

When deputies responded to the scene, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound, the press release said.

The man was taken to Atrium Health Navicent's Medical Center by Houston Healthcare Emergency Medical Services. They said he is listed in "stable condition." 

The sheriff's office says Arnold is being held at the Houston County Sheriff's Office's Detention Center.

According to the detention center website, Arnold does not have bond.
