ATLANTA — Choosing a college should be about education, but aesthetics are also an important factor in making the right choice. Does the campus offer beautiful architecture or boast amazing views? Those are questions a prospective student may ask before taking the big leap to a post-secondary institution.

To help make that choice a bit easier, Architectural Digest magazine comprised a list of the “64 Prettiest College Campuses in America,” and two Georgia campuses made the list.

Berry College in Rome and Spelman College in Atlanta both appeared on the list.

Berry's lush, historic campus was lauded for its gorgeous English Gothic architecture and beautiful forests and fields. Founded in 1902, the 27,000-acre campus has been named the largest in the world.

"When it comes to a beautiful setting, Berry College can’t be beat," the magazine wrote.

Founded in 1881, Spelman College has a beautiful 39-acre campus near downtown Atlanta. The college is one of three historically Black colleges and universities that make up the Atlanta University Center, along with Morehouse College and Clark Atlanta University.

The campus was praised for its beautiful buildings and historic architecture.

"The HBCU features redbrick buildings in a variety of styles, including the Rockefeller Hall, which was built in 1886 and is listed on the National Record of Historic Places," Architectural Digest said.

New installations continue to be added to the campus, and construction of the new Center for Innovation & the Arts is expected to begin in early 2025.
