Access points along the Ocmulgee River and parts of Amerson River Park closed as river levels rise

Macon-Bibb is continuing to monitor the river levels and could close additional areas.

MACON, Ga. — All river access points along the Ocmulgee River are being shut down after severe weather moved through the area on Tuesday, according to Macon-Bibb spokesman Chris Floore.

Floore said this includes the Spring Street entrance as well as the dirt road at Amerson River Park and the back walking trails will be closed.

They will continue to monitor the river levels as it may require them to close more areas. Floore asks that people pay attention to the barriers that they put up.

13WMAZ will provide additional updates as they are made available including if more areas are closed and when the access points are reopened.
