Baldwin County's probate judge has confirmed that Mary Parham-Copelan won the Milledgeville mayor's race by just a handful of votes.
The official results released Thursday actually cut her margin by one vote since Tuesday -- from 6 to 5.
According to results certified by probate judge Todd Blackwell, Parham-Copelan got 833 votes and incumbent Gary Thrower 828.
That means she won by three-tenths of 1 percent , out of 1678 votes cast.
Those results were sent to the Georgia Secretary of State's office Wednesday, and Thrower has until 5 p.m. Monday to request a recount.
Under Georgia law, a recount will be held automatically if Thrower asks for one, because the margin of victory is less than 1 percent.
