Atlanta firefighter home from hospital after being smashed between two fire trucks in March

A post on Facebook from the fire department sent him best wishes.

A firefighter has finally gone home after being smashed between two fire trucks back in March, according to the Atlanta Fire Rescue Department on Facebook.

The incident happened on Saturday, March 16, while a fire crew was returning to their firehouse. Fire officials said the crew was out at a home on Deerwood Drive for a reported fire when two fire trucks smashed Firefighter Z. Correll between them.

He reported chest injuries and was taken for treatment and was just released on Friday from Piedmont Hospital, according to a Facebook post from the department. 

"Atlanta Fire Rescue would like to send Firefighter Correll well wishes on his journey to recovery," the post read in part.
