SPRING HILL, Fla. — A registered sex offender is accused of hacking an underage Manatee County girl's Snapchat account to send nude photos of her to her friends.
On Dec. 7, Manatee County sheriff's detectives contacted the Hernando County Sheriff's Office about a cyber sexual harassment case they had been investigating since August.
According to detectives, a Manatee County girl's Snapchat account had been hacked by someone using an IP address located at 1508 Ivydale Road in Spring Hill — where 24-year-old William Isoldi, a registered sex offender, lived.
Detectives said Isoldi used the girl's Snapchat account to send nude photos of her to her friends and solicit nude photos of them in return.
"Isoldi's status as a sexual offender stemmed from charges in Polk County, where Isoldi demonstrated the same predatory behavior as in the current case," the sheriff's office wrote in a news release.
A search warrant at Isoldi's home on Dec. 13 reportedly revealed multiple devices with an email address Isoldi said he was using to hide his true identity. Isoldi's sex offender status restricts his social media use, and failing to report an email address is a violation of his sexual offender requirements.
Isoldi was arrested and charged with sexual cyber harassment, unlawful use of a two-way communication device to commit a felony, violation of probation and failure to comply with sex offender reporting requirements.
He was transported to the Hernando County Detention Center where he is being held without bond.
