At least three homes destroyed after fire in downtown Macon

13WMAZ is still gathering information about the blaze.

MACON, Ga. — Bibb County firefighters battled a series of house fires in downtown Macon on Sunday morning.

The fires were at the corner of Walnut and Spring Street, just next to the Forrest Johnson law offices.

The law offices did not seem to be damaged. However, at least three homes were destroyed and others sustained severe damage.

A Bibb County deputy told 13WMAZ they received a call about the fire around 6 a.m.

13WMAZ's Solen Aref was on the scene and she said even as some crews were rolling up hoses and packing up their trucks, smoke was still rising from the buildings.

Crews were still out working to hose down the remnants of the fire.

So far, there are no injuries reported.

At this time, there is no further information about what started the fire.

Two GoFundMe campaigns have been started for those affected by the fires. One is for Victoria Carruthers and another is for Maghan Orr. According to the campaigns both lost everything in the fires.

13WMAZ will update when more information is available.
