Country singer Nick Malloy, also 13WMAZ anchor Frank Malloy's son, brought his talents to 'Twang' in Macon to sing and strum a few tunes. It's been a while for the songwriter, singer, and musician. In 2012, he was in a car accident that left him paralyzed from the waist down.

It's not every day you see someone with as much motivation as Nick Malloy. "For me, it's go big or go home. So it's just like, I'm still here for a reason," said Malloy.

Malloy said after his 2012 car wreck, he didn't think he would perform again. That's when his passion for music kicked in. "As much as I push music away for the past few years, I've fallen into a real dark spot in life, and it's coming back," said Malloy.

Even though he's performed for more than ten years, he says it's like starting from square one. "Breathing tubes being shoved down my throat. And it's been a struggle because I'm trying to have to relearn songs," said Malloy.

Malloy said he discovered recently that it was time to hit the stage again. "It's all I know. I start stressing about the future and what I need to do to in life. Music is all I've known," said Malloy.

Now that he's performing for the first time in three years, he said taking center stage feels like home. "The guitar is my comfort blanket. I'm not really a social butterfly, but you put a guitar in my hands and I can kinda let loose a little more," said Malloy.

Malloy's older brother, Brad, said there was a point in time when he didn't think he would ever see Nick perform again. "For him to get back to it, it's amazing to see him back out here," said Malloy.

Nick Malloy says his road back into the music business hasn't been an easy one, but now he's ready to give it his all. He says his goal now is to work on his songwriting. Malloy said he isn't sure where his country music career is going, but he says he knows it will be great.
