Man dead after crash on Highway 96 East

It happened around noon on highway 96, according to Peach Coroner Kerry Rooks.

FORT VALLEY, Ga. — A man is dead after a car crash in Fort Valley, according to Peach County Coroner Kerry Rooks. 

He says it happened around noon on highway 96 East about three miles outside Fort Valley. 

A man was driving and lost control of his car. The car overturned and he was ejected from it. 

Rooks says the man has been identified as 71-year-old Viol Reeves of Butler, Georgia. 

Reeves was taken to Atrium Health Navicent in Macon where he was pronounced dead. 

Rooks says there was a passenger in the car but they were not injured.
