Two men are behind bars after allegedly exchanging gunfire in front of a south Macon gas station.
According to a news release from the Bibb Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the Sunoco gas station at 4315 Houston Ave. Saturday afternoon for a call of shots fired.
When they arrived, they were told two men were shooting at each other in front of the gas station.
Deputies tried to stop a vehicle matching the description of one of the cars from the scene, and a chase began.
After a car chase and foot chase near Rocky Creek Road, the driver fired a shot towards a Bibb deputy.
That driver was later identified as 36-year-old Deandre Williams.
The second shooter was identified as 17-year-old Dequavious Howard and he was arrested near the scene of the original shooting.
Both men are charged with aggravated assault.
