Outdoor beer garden coming to Macon's Ingleside Village

The Society Garden will offer eight beer taps, which will be both local and seasonal crafts. Additionally, the venue will offer ice-cream treats, shaved ice, popcorn and wine.

An outdoor beer garden will open in historic Ingleside Village soon, according to co-owner Meagan Evans.

Evans and her husband, Brad share ownership of the new outdoor venue.

"We're always looking for things to do with our family that we can bring them (the kids) and socialize with neighbors, and we just kind of thought 'gosh Ingleside Village is such a cute, quiet village,'" Evans said. "We just wanted to create a community atmosphere here in Ingleside Village."

The Society Garden will offer eight beer taps, which will be both local and seasonal craft brews. The venue will also offer ice-cream treats, shaved ice, popcorn among other options.

During the cooler months, the venue will offer hot chocolate and other warm beverages.

Aside from treats and beverages, the venue will sell limited outdoor gardening supplies.

Evans says she plans to bring a food truck to the area once a month since the venue will not serve food. In addition, she encourages patrons to utilize nearby restaurants like Ingleside Village Pizza, which is next door.

"I encourage people to go next door and grab a slice of pizza and come right over," she said.

The venue will also be available for the community to rent and host private events like birthday parties and wedding receptions.

The Evans hope to open the venue in mid-September with a special grand-opening weekend planned for the first weekend in October.

The garden will be open from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Wednesday through Friday and from noon until 10 p.m. on Saturdays.
