MACON, Ga. — It was a beautiful day on Saturday to learn about the influence of African culture at the Tubman Museum.

The Pan African Festival of Georgia was celebrating the principles of love, peace, unity and hope.

"So being that there is so much a connection to slavery, so much of a connection to Africanism to our heritage we thought it was imperative to be out here to show people the correct understanding," said Seraiah Israel.

General admission to the festival was free, and VIP seats were $10.

There was live music, dancing, food trucks, vendors, games, and more.

If you missed the music and fun on Saturday,  you can stop by the Tubman Museum on Sunday at 2 p.m.
