'Grow your talent' | Robins Air Force Base hiring event draws thousands interested in open positions

At the Museum of Aviation, thousands gathered at the job fair hosted by Robins Air Force Base to apply for open positions.

ROBINS AIR FORCE BASE, Ga. — We shared job-hunting tips this week and many people put them to use at Central Georgia's largest employer's job fair!

Robins Air Force Base hosted a massive job fair at the Museum of Aviation. It went all day from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. They said over 5,00 resumes were received during the event.

The base was hiring over 800 people at its hiring event, and people came from all over Central Georgia for the job fair.

Almost every department at the base is hiring, including the 78th Logistics Readiness Squadron which Lt. Cassandra Lopez is a part of.

"We're currently hiring CDL drivers within the squadron and they're being hired via direct hire today," Lopez said.

"I've heard a lot stories, it's so hard to get hired on base, I can't get hired on base, " Lopez said.

She's most excited about getting to meet potential new hires: "I'm looking forward to people actually coming to this event."

"You constantly have to refresh and grow your talent," Deputy Director of the Missions Support Group at Robins Robert Hubbs said.

He and William Ricketts, who were representing the base, were excited about the event's potential.

Some people, like Latonya Hampton, have family that work at the base.

She calls herself a people person, which is why she's looking for a job in human resources.

"I'm just a very friendly person, as you can see. I'm outgoing, I like to talk. So, that would suit me very well," Hampton said.

Dequarius Turner and Courtney Johnson ran into each other in line.

Johnson said she heard about the event from fliers their church sent out.

Turner said he was looking forward to "what jobs there are, what people have to offer, and what I can offer to the base."

"I love the enthusiasm I'm seeing from people here," Ricketts said.  "They wanna come out and work they came out wanting to be here and that's a big thing."

We're wishing the best of luck to everyone who came out today.
