Bibb County deputies arrest two people after brief chase on Broadway in Macon

It began when deputies attempted a traffic stop.

MACON, Ga. — Two people are in jail after leading Bibb deputies on a brief chase and ramming into two patrol cars, according to a press release from the Bibb County Sheriff's Office.

They say it happened on Wednesday around 1:42 p.m. when deputies attempted to do a traffic stop on Broadway in Macon.

Investigators spotted a wanted man and woman in a white GMC Denali as they were going north on Broadway.

When deputies attempted to stop the car, the driver refused and led deputies on a chase, the release says.

When driving away, the release says the driver intentionally rammed into two patrol cars.

Deputies arrested the suspects on Eisenhower Parkway. No one was injured in the chase.

The driver was identified as 34-year-old Dennis Duane Coley II of Macon. He was wanted in Bibb County for felony theft by taking and second-degree criminal damage to property.

The passenger, 36-year-old Heather Alaina Keene of Macon, was also wanted in Bibb County for felony theft by taking, second-degree criminal damage to property and battery.

They were both taken to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center where their warrants were served, the release says.

After the chase, Coley now faces additional charges of driving on a suspended license, felony fleeing and eluding law enforcement officers and aggravated assault on a peace officer.

Neither Coley nor Keene have a bond.
