Two Macon pizza delivery drivers shot in a week

UPDATE (10 a.m.): Cpl. Linda Howard with the Bibb Sheriff's Office has confirmed the man shot in a robbery in the 2900-block of Bloomfield Drive on Thursday was also a Papa John's delivery driver.

UPDATE (1:25 p.m.): Papa John's has issued a statement to WMAZ about the two shootings:

"Team member safety is of the utmost importance to Papa John's. We are cooperating with local authorities in their efforts to apprehend those responsible for these attacks. Our thoughts are with the drivers and their families and we wish them both a speedy recovery."

She also told WMAZ that the family in the home where Rouse was shot did not order the pizza.

A connection between the two is unknown at this time.

A Macon woman is in critical condition after being shot in the head, according to a Bibb Sheriff's Office news release.

It says deputies responded to a call of a person shot at a home in the 2400 block of Vivian Dr. around 8:20 p.m.

They found 22-year-old Brooklyn Rouse lying outside of the house.

It was reported to deputies that Ross was delivering pizza to the home when she was shot in the face and head.

She was taken to the Medical Center, Navicent Health and is in critical condition.

No one else was injured and no information is available on a suspect at this time.
