Valerie Wynn was elected to north Bibb County's District 1 Commission seat in a special runoff election Tuesday evening.
According to Jeanetta Watson with the Bibb County Board of Elections, Wynn received 677 votes, while candidate Lynn Wood received 582 votes.
Watson said there are 4,567 registered voters in District 1, meaning that voter turnout was 27.56 percent.
The District 1 seat has been vacant since Gary Bechtel left in early March to run for a spot in the state house.
