RANDLEMAN, N.C. — Richard Petty announced the newest NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series team at Petty's Garage.
The team, named Faction-46, will compete in the NASCAR National Series next year.
Petty's own grandson, Thad Moffit, will be making his debut on the team.
Moffitt says it's great to see his dreams come to fruition.
"For me, it was always just an idea. You know, it was really cool and today it's kinda hitting me. Like it's real. It just became real, there's people here, we've announced it, we don't have to walk around and keep it a secret anymore," said Moffitt.
The team owner Lane Moore says he's in awe that he's working with the Petty's.
"I'm about to have to pinch myself, it's almost like a dream, you know. You grow up watching the Petty's and the Petty name, and now we're partners with them in NASCAR, so it's kinda like a dream," said Moore.
The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series begins next February.
