Christmas came early for one central Georgia football standout.

With an eye on getting on campus early, a big time recruit from Northside High School in Warner Robins made his college plans official Tuesday.

Senior Tae Daley signed with Vanderbilt to play safety for the Commodores. Daley was a three-year starter for the Eagles. He won a state championship, region title and reached the state semifinals twice during his tenure at Northside. He finished his high school career with 142 career tackles and 13 interceptions, including 5 this season.

Daley is enrolling early at Vanderbilt, which is in Nashville, Tennessee, after the Christmas holidays and and will begin classes in January.

Vanderbilt is coached by Derek Mason, and went 6-6 (3-5 SEC) so far in 2016. The Commodores will take on North Carolina State in the Camping World Independence Bowl on December 26 at 5 p.m. The game will take place at Independence Stadium in Shreveport, Louisiana, and will be broadcast on ESPN2.
