Moore, Latta named WNBA Players of the Week

Minnesota Lynx forward Maya Moore has been named the WNBA's Western Conference Player of the Week while Washington Mystics guard Ivory Latta claimed the honors for the Eastern Conference for games played between Sept. 9-15.

New York, NY (Sports Network) - Minnesota Lynx forward Maya Moore has been named the WNBA's Western Conference Player of the Week while Washington Mystics guard Ivory Latta claimed the honors for the Eastern Conference for games played between Sept. 9-15.

Moore won Player of the Week for the second straight time and third this season after averaging 19.7 points on 56 percent shooting.

Moore filled the stat sheet with 22 points, 11 rebounds and six assists in a win over Chicago and recorded a season-high five steals to go with 20 points in a win at Seattle.

The Lynx locked up first place in the West and will host the Storm in an opening round playoff series. Moore finished the regular season tops in the league in both 3-point accuracy (.453) and 3-pointers made (72), becoming the first player in league history to accomplish the feat.

Latta claimed the East's award after leading the Mystics to three straight wins to conclude the regular season. The UNC product tallied 15 points and four assists in a two-point victory over the Fever and went for 19 and 12 points, respectively, in routs of Connecticut and New York.

Washington finished third in the East and will meet Atlanta in the first round.
