College football coach from Atlanta passes away at 37

ATLANTA — A college football coach and Atlanta native has sadly passed away at the age of 37, his family posted in an online fundraiser.

Jada Brown had served as the defensive line coach at Fayetteville State University in Fayetteville, North Carolina, prior to his passing on Dec. 2. His cause of death was not revealed by his family.

Brown grew up in Atlanta and attended Banneker High School in College Park.

"Jada had a remarkable career in college football and strength conditioning, advancing steadily and making significant contributions to the field," his family said as they described their loved one in the fundraiser. "He was respected and admired by his colleagues and students for his coaching skills and devotion."

They went on to say that he left a lasting impact on the young athletes that he coached through his mentorship and guidance, and they want to "honor the amazing legacy he left behind."

Fayetteville State University released a statement regarding Brown's passing on Tuesday:

A public viewing will be held Friday, Dec. 15, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the funeral home, according to Brown's obituary. A celebration of life will be held for Brown on Saturday, Dec. 16, at 1 p.m. at Dixie Hill Baptist Church at 1995 Morehouse Drive in Atlanta.
