Meet Central Georgia's first babies of 2019

Congratulations to all parents of babies born today!

While some people celebrated the New Year, some Central Georgia families were celebrating a new family member.

That includes the family of Ase Kadijah Reynolds who was born Tuesday morning at Coliseum Hospital in Macon.

She arrived early and weighs 3 pounds, 7.6 ounces.

Her mother, Zequila Martin, said when she arrived to the hospital just after midnight she still couldn’t believe she was going into labor.

“I was like no, y'all gotta do something, it's too early! At least let me keep her here till 36 weeks or something, but she wasn't having it. She was ready to come, she was not having it,” Martin said.

While Ase was the first at Coliseum, another baby was born at The Medical Center, Navicent Health a little earlier, but the family did not want to give an interview.

The very first New Year's Day baby came right after midnight at Navicent Health Baldwin -- 12:01 a.m. to be exact!

Her name is Ja’Mya and she is 6 pounds, 4 ounces.
