Bibb County deputies attacked by childcare center employee suspected of stealing wallet, BSO says

The woman hit deputies with her hands and feet while they were taking her into custody, the Bibb County Sheriff's Office says.

MACON, Ga. — A Macon woman hit Bibb County deputies taking her into custody for stealing a wallet, according to the Bibb County Sheriff's Office.

On May 25 at 2 p.m., a woman reported that her wallet at been stolen at Riverside Children's Center at 735 Pierce Avenue just off Riverside Drive.

20-year-old Quintescia Lachelle Coley, an employee at the children's center, was found with the woman's wallet. 

They said Coley made transactions on the payment app, Cash App, using the stolen debit card.

Surveillance cameras saw Coley near the woman's purse, the release said.  

According to the Bibb County Sheriff's Office when Coley was told she was under arrest, she attacked the deputies who managed to get her under control and into custody.

The Bibb County Sheriff's Office said Coley hit the deputies with her hands and feet. The deputies were not injured.

Coley was transported to the Bibb County jail, and she is facing charges of Theft by Taking and two counts of Felony Willful Obstruction of Law Enforcement Officers.
