FITZGERALD, Ga. — A teen is dead and three more were injured in a shooting at a prom party in Fitzgerald over the weekend, according to a release from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
15-year-old Chyell Paulk was shot and killed in the 300 block of East Pine Street in Fitzgerald just after 1 a.m. on Sunday morning. A 19-year-old and two more minors were also injured during the shooting.
All four were taken to a local hospital for treatment. Paulk was pronounced dead at the hospital. All four victims are from Ben Hill County.
A 17-year-old has been arrested and charged with murder, three counts of aggravated assault and possession of a firearm.
The Fitzgerald Police Department asked the GBI to help with the investigation.
