MACON, Ga. — Bibb deputies are investigating a shooting that happened on the 600 block of Villa Esta Avenue just after 8:30 p.m. Thursday.

According to a news release from the Bibb County Sheriff's Office, when deputies made it to the scene, they could not find the victim. Just after 9 p.m., they got another call about a person shot in the 3900 block of Spencer Circle. There, they found a 67-year-old man with gunshot wounds to the groin area. 

The release says some men came up to the victim when he was on Villa Esta Avenue and one man pulled out a gun, demanded money, and then shot him. The victim drove himself to the home on Spencer Circle. 

The victim was taken to the Medical Center, Navicent Health where he is listed in stable condition.

There is no information on the suspect.
