MACON — A man wanted in a west Macon shooting death is in police custody.
The Bibb County Sheriff's Office arrested Tirell Darnell Mitchell, 26 after his family contacted investigators Sunday morning. Mitchell's family turned Darnell Mitchell over to investigators and he was charged with the murder of Jim Julius Baldwin, 44 and booked into the Bibb County Jail.
BSO named Mitchell a person of interest after a deadly shooting on the 1500 block of Berker Avenue, Baldwin was shot in the main artery of his leg and later died at Navicent Health Medical Center, according to a BSO news release.
