City of Gordon Festival comes alive with food, music, and art

Vendors, food, live music and art were available for the community to enjoy until the sun set.

GORDON, Georgia — On Saturday local businesses in Gordon hosted a community festival.

The city partnered with local businesses like The Jelly Elephant and the Purple Velvet Boutique.

The event featured vendors, food, live music and art for the community to enjoy until the sun sets.

Vendors include jewelry makers, artists showing off their paintings and pottery, leatherworks and more.

You can find art books, vinyl records, CD's, Indigenous instruments and music from local artists.

People could even bring their instruments to play at the open mic music jam.

Tamie Shinholter from the Purple Velvet Boutique says the event is a great way to bring the community together.

"We need more connection with people in the community. You know, ever sense the pandemic everything has kind of died down so this is a way to bring some more liveliness to the city," she said.

The Festival lasts until 8 p.m. on Saturday.
