Armed robbers hit Macon Waffle House late Wednesday

Two men with pistols demanded money from the register and customers

MACON, Ga. — Two men with pistols robbed a Macon Waffle House late Wednesday night.

A release from the Bibb Sheriff's Office says it happened at 2644 Riverside Drive just after 11:30. That's the location near Pierce Avenue.

The robbers were wearing hooded sweat shirts and had their faces covered.

They demanded money from the cash register, and also robbed two employees and two customers. None of the seven people in the restaurant at the time got hurt.

The robbers ran off toward the back of the S & S Cafeteria next door.

Right now it's not clear how much money they got.

Witnesses believe the robbers were between 17 and 20 years old.

It's very similar to a robbery at the same location last August. In that case two armed robbers held up the restaurant early on a Wednesday morning before running off.

If you have any information you can call the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office at 478-751-7500 or Macon Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-877-68CRIME.
