Man arrested, another in critical condition after fight in Macon

It all started after a fight on Sunday at the Corner Grocery Store in Macon.

MACON, Ga. — A man is in critical condition and another is in jail after getting into a fight in Macon, according to a press release from the Bibb County Sheriff's Office. 

They say on Tuesday around 10:29 a.m. the 911 call center received notice about an assault on 57-year-old man who was already being treated at Atrium Health Navicent. 

Deputies responded to assist.

The man was involved in a fight on Sunday at the Corner Grocery Store. 

Investigators identified the suspect as 43-year-old Antoine Joseph McCall of Macon. 

McCall was arrested on Thursday just before 10:30 a.m. near the intersection of Walnut Street and Ward Street. He was then taken to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center.

McCall was already wanted in Bibb County for superior court probation violation and now faces a charge of aggravated battery. 

He does not have a bond.

According to medical staff, the 57-year-old victim is still in critical condition. His identity will not be released.
