MACON, Ga. — There's a new candidate in the race for Bibb County Sheriff.
Marshall Hughes made his official campaign announcement at Emerson on Plum.
Hughes is a Macon native who graduated from Northeast High School.
He spent 9.5 years as a deputy for the Bibb County Sheriff’s office.
“Thank you all for coming out, thank you all for supporting me and my family,” Hughes said. “I need your vote. Vote Marshall Hughes for your next sheriff of Macon-Bibb county.”
There are already a few candidates already in the race. Sheriff David Davis, violent crimes investigator DeAndre Hall and former patrol officer Christopher Paul have all put their name in the ring.
