Ocmulgee Artist Guild hosts Euphoria: Street Art Exhibition

The show will have free food, drinks, and a graffiti ball

MACON, Ga. — If you're looking for a fun way to spend your Saturday, the Ocmulgee Artist Guild will be hosting a full day of events leading up to their street art show in downtown Macon.

The guild will be painting faces at the Macon Open Air Market followed by a bar crawl and skateboard competition.

The Epiphany Bar Crawl lasts from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. and bars like Ocmulgee Brewpub and Reboot Retrocade & Bar will be participating with drink specials.

The Travel By Rail skate competition will feature local skaters showing off their best moves on Second Street and begins at 5:30 pm.

The art exhibition starts at 6 p.m. and will feature the work of over 15 local artists. The show's theme, Euphoria, is all about mixing street art with light and color. Art work will be available for purchase.

"We knew we wanted to do something related to graffiti, to street art, and to incorporate multiple facets of what can be considered street art," says guild director Colin Penndorf.

The show will have free food and drinks provided by Piedmont Brewery & Kitchen and a 500 square foot graffiti wall where everyone can add their artistic touch.

"That's what we strive to do is make each event an experience," says Penndorf. "Whether it's an installation piece, a piece on the wall you took home, or chatting with somebody in the multicolored stairwell, we feel like all of that is conducive to just continuing this thriving art culture."

The street art exhibition can be found at 391 Second Street and is free for all.
