Two hurt after crash and brief chase on Pio Nono Avenue

It happened around 9:30 p.m. and Bibb deputies are still investigating.

MACON, Ga. — One person was injured and another is in critical condition after a Tuesday night crash on I-75, according to Sgt. Christopher Williams with the Bibb County Sheriff's Office.

He says it happened when deputies were doing a traffic stop around 9:30 p.m. about a stolen car on Pio Nono Avenue.

The driver refused to stop and began heading south. After a brief chase, the driver crashed near I-75, Williams said.

The driver and a passenger got treatment for their injuries on the scene before being taken to the hospital.

The driver is in stable condition but the passenger is listed to be in critical but stable condition.

No one else was harmed during the crash, Williams said.

Williams says deputies are still investigating.
