One injured in chain-reaction crash that closed west Macon road

The road was shut down as Bibb deputies worked to clear the scene of the wreck

MACON, Ga. — An accident involving three cars closed part of Log Cabin Drive on Thursday night.

According to Georgia State Patrol, it happened in the 5100-block of Log Cabin Drive around 7 p.m.

They say the driver of a Kia Optima rear-ended a Chevy Equinox and the Equinox crashed into the back end of a Toyota Camry.

GSP says the passenger of the Camry reported an injury, and the other two vehicles were towed away from the scene due to damage.

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office closed the portion of the road between Chambers Road and Bloomfield Road to clean up the scene.

It has since been reopened and traffic is moving again.

Georgia State Patrol did not indicate what caused the initial crash, did not identify the drivers, and did not say if anyone would be charged or cited.
