LIST: Schools closing for severe weather on Tuesday in Central Georgia

The 13WMAZ weather team expects the damaging wind threat to be the primary driver as the line moves through.

MACON, Ga. — Severe storms will be in the picture for Tuesday. 

Here are the schools closing or planning for asynchronous learning days throughout Central Georgia.

Closures as of 9:00 a.m.:

Covenant Academy: Closed

Mount de Sales Academy: Closed

Academy for Classical Education: Closed

Jones County: Closed

Monroe County: Closed

Dodge County: Closed

John Hancock Academy: Closed

Wilcox County: Closed

Dooly County: Closed 

Hancock County: Closed

Wheeler County: Closed

Sumter County: Closed

Putnam County: Closed

Thomaston-Upson: Closed 

Crisp County: Closed 

Treutlen County: Closed

Jasper County: Closed

First Presbyterian Day School: Closed 

Stratford Academy: Closed 

Telfair County: Closed 

Montgomery County: Closed

Oconee Fall Line Technical College: Closed

Montgomery County: Closed

St Andrews Montessori School: Closed

Montessori of Macon: Closed

Trinity Christian School: Closed

Happy Hollow Christian Academy: Closed

Milledgeville Prep: Closed

Central Fellowship Christian Academy: Closed

Hope Learning Academy: Closed

Online/Asynchronous:

Bibb County: Asynchronous

Baldwin County: Asynchronous 

Cirrus Academy: Asynchronous

Johnson County: Virtual Learning Day

Macon County: Virtual Learning Day 

Twiggs County: Asynchronous 

Washington County: Virtual Learning Day

Wilkinson County: Virtual Learning Day 

Notable Exceptions:

Central Georgia's largest school district, Houston County, has not made any announcements about whether school will go on as normal.

However, the Laurens County School District said, as of 7 p.m., that they are planning on being in person as usual

Dublin City Schools said, as of 4:35 p.m., that they are planning on having a regular school day. They will notify families through their Remind system, their website, their social media channels and their media partners like 13WMAZ of any changes.
