Reactions pour in after sudden passing of two-time PGA Tour winner

FORT WORTH, Texas — The golf world was delivered some devastating news on Saturday after the PGA Tour announced the sudden passing of two-time winner Grayson Murray at the young age of 30.

Murray, a native of Raleigh, North Carolina, won the Sony Open in Hawaii to kick off the PGA Tour calendar year back in January. He was playing in this weekend's Charles Schwab Challenge at Colonial Country Club in Forth Worth, Texas, but withdrew on hole 16 on Friday after feeling ill.

The golf community's sense of shock and sadness poured in across the internet on Saturday, with those remembering Murray and still in disbelief that he is gone.

PGA Tour

The PGA Tour released a statement, saying they were "devastated to learn - and are heartbroken to share - that PGA Tour player Grayson Murray passed away this morning."

Luke Donald

Luke Donald, the captain of the European Ryder Cup team this past year, said Murray asked him for advice on how to play at the Masters last month.

Jim Nantz

Broadcaster Jim Nantz was at a loss for words when talking about Murray's passing live on CBS' coverage of the tournament on Saturday afternoon.

Barstool Sports' Dan Rapaport said that players received an email on Saturday that Murray had passed away.
