UGA's Javon Bullard and former Baldwin Brave drafted into the NFL. Here's where he's going

From Baldwin County to Athens and now, to Green Bay, Javon Bullard is taking his talents to the NFL after being selected during the 2024 NFL draft.

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. — Javon Bullard, the 5'10 and 198-pound safety from the University of Georgia, is going from the Bulldogs — and to Green Bay.

Bullard was selected on Friday in the second round as the 58th pick overall.

Before UGA and during his high school days, Bullard was a standout player for the Baldwin Braves football team in Milledgeville.

During the draft, he was surrounded by family and friends in Baldwin County, erupting in cheers when he was selected Friday night.

After the Bulldogs' national championship win in 2023, Bullard came back to Baldwin County and received a champion's welcome.

"An opportunity like this, when it presents itself, you can't turn it down," Bullard said. "Every time I have the opportunity to give back to my city, I'm looking to always do so."

On a visit to local schools, he sent an optimistic message to the students.

"You can do it," Bullard said. "Don't let anybody tell you that you can't do it. God has a purpose for all of us, God has a plan for all of us, and I feel we've got to do what we need to do in order to fulfill God's purpose so just keep going."
