Daytona 500 postponed

NASCAR officials said bad weather in Daytona Beach put the brakes on Sunday races.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series DAYTONA 500 and Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series United Rentals 300 have been postponed.

According to NASCAR officials, the decision was made due to inclement weather forecasted to remain in the Daytona Beach, Florida area through Sunday evening.

The races for Sunday will now be held on Monday.

The NASCAR Xfinity Series race will start, Monday, at 11:00 a.m. and the DAYTONA 500 is set to start at 4:00 p.m.

NASCAR said this will mark the first-ever Monday doubleheader at Daytona International Speedway.

The live broadcast networks will be the same. 

The United Rentals 300 will be broadcast on FS1, MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio. The DAYTONA 500 will air on FOX, MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.
