JEFFERSON, Ga. -- A 65-year-old Nicholson, Ga., man arrested by deputies from the Jackson County Sheriff's Office on Tuesday, May 1, after investigators discovered an "abundance of child pornography from multiple devices" he owns.
Investigators said they received a tip about the possibility of Ernest Leander Shaw being in possession of child pornography. When they searched Shaw's property and vehicle, they found a large quantity of pornography.
Shaw is in the Jackson County Jail, facing 66 counts of sexual exploitation of children, possession of Schedule IV drugs and crossing guard line with drugs. Additional charges are pending.
According to Jackson County Sheriff Janis Mangum, investigators also discovered that Shaw has been employed as a substitute teacher in both Jackson and Banks counties. She says that so far, investigators have not found any evidence that local children were victims of child pornography, but their investigation remains ongoing.
