Want free ice cream for a year? It could be yours at this new Kathleen ice cream shop

Sweet Charlie’s is having its grand opening this weekend and there's a big incentive to show up on opening day

KATHLEEN, Ga. — A new Thai rolled ice cream shop in Kathleen is getting ready to open its doors this weekend.

To get the community excited about its grand opening, owners Nishant and Heena Patel are offering free ice cream to the first 10 people who make a purchase. Those ten will also receive one free ice cream per week for an entire year!

They will also be giving out scratch-off cards to everyone who purchases an ice cream on opening day. The cards could say anything from 'Sorry try again,' to 'One year of free ice cream.'

“We’re just really excited,” exclaimed Heena.

The shop will sell Thai rolled ice cream, which is cream poured onto a frost top that turns it into ice cream. It's then rolled and served in a cup.

The Patels will offer more than just ice cream with milkshakes and gourmet waffles also on the menu. They have vegan, premium yogurt, and ice cream bases.

“Everything that we offer here is fresh,” said Heena.

Nishant says he looked around at different ice cream providers, but Sweet Charlie’s was his favorite.

“It was the best one,” he said.

The couple thought it would be a good idea to bring something unique to the community and they are hoping for a big turn out on Saturday.

“We hope that the community supports us and what we do,” said Heena.

Sweet Charlie's is located in the former Stevi B's building at 1117 GA-96 near Houston Lakes Cinema. The grand opening begins Saturday, June 15, at noon.
