2 Jones County men arrested, charged with sexual exploitation of children

Jonathan Dylan Wright, 29, and Matthew Jared Mixter, 32, are charged with sexual exploitation of children and possession of child sexual abuse material

JONES COUNTY, Ga. — Two Jones County men have been arrested on sexual exploitation of children charges.

According to a news release from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, the GBI's Child Exploitation and Computer Crimes (CEACC) Unit carried out two search warrants regarding separate child exploitation investigations. As a result, Jonathan Dylan Wright, 29, was arrested and charged with six counts of sexual exploitation of children, possession of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) (three counts) and distribution of CSAM (three counts). Matthew Jared Mixter, 32, was arrested and charged with one count of sexual exploitation of children, distribution of CSAM. Additional charges may be forthcoming.

The release says investigations into Wright's and Mixter's internet activity were started after GBI agents received cybertips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children involving child sexual abuse material. Digital forensic investigators assigned to the GBI CEACC Unit examined numerous electronic devices during the searches, resulting in the arrests. The Jones County Sheriff’s Office helped in the search warrants and subsequent arrests. Both Wright and Mixter were taken to the Jones County jail.
