Man shot in Macon grocery store by nephew

The Bibb County Sheriff's Office says Ricky Wyche was arguing with his teen nephew when shots were fired

MACON, Ga. — The Bibb County Sheriff's Office says they've arrested a teen Saturday, after he allegedly shot at and injured his uncle.

The office says deputies responded to a call around 5:24 p.m. that a man was shot at M&M Groceries on Montpelier Avenue.

When deputies arrived they found 61-year-old Ricky Wyche with a gunshot wound to the face. 

It was reported Wyche and his 16-year-old nephew got into an argument inside the store. The office says the teen walked out of the store, pulled out a gun and shot inside, hitting Wyche. 

The teen was arrested and charged with aggravated assault. Wyche was taken to the Medical Center, Navicent Health with non-life threatening injuries.
