UPDATE, 10 p.m.:

According to Bibb Chief Deputy Coroner Lonnie Miley, the drowning victim has been identified as 24-year-old Qytravious Brown from Warner Robins.

Lieutenant Sean DeFoe with the Bibb County Sheriff's Office says just before 7:30 p.m. Thursday, deputies got the call about a drowning at Amerson River Park located at 2600 Riverview Road in Macon.

DeFoe says Brown was swimming near the rocks just below the overlook area at the park when he got tired and slipped underwater. Rescue crews found Brown about 100 yards south of the rocks where he went under.
