Motorcyclist killed after being hit by SUV in grocery store parking lot, police say

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at Atrium Health Navicent after the crash, Forsyth Police say. The investigation is ongoing.

FORSYTH, Ga. — A motorcyclist was killed after a crash involving the driver and an SUV at an Ingles grocery store parking lot, according to a press release from the Forsyth Police Department.

They say the officers responded to the Ingles at 260 Tift College Drive on Monday at around 2 p.m.

The crash happened in the rear of the parking lot, the press release said.

They say officers and firefighters from the Forsyth Fire Department offered aid to all involved parties.

The motorcyclist was then taken by the Monroe County Emergency Medical Services to Atrium Health Navicent where the driver "tragically" did not survive.

They say the Georgia State Patrol is assisting in the "ongoing" investigation as they work to determine "the circumstances surrounding the accident."
