Houston County man flown to Atlanta for burns after a mobile home fire

The fire happened around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday. A woman was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation.

HOUSTON COUNTY, Ga. — A man is being treated for burns at an Atlanta hospital after a mobile home fire in Hayneville, according to Houston County Fire Chief Chris Stoner. 

Two people were inside of a mobile home at 2882 Highway 341 South in Houston County just after 9:30 p.m. on Sunday night. 

The man and woman were able to get out of the home before firefighters arrived. The back of the house and roof were on fire. 

The man was flown by air ambulance to Atlanta for burns sustained in the fire. The woman was treated for smoke inhalation and was released at the scene. 

The house is no longer inhabitable, a few items may be salvageable. Two stations responded along with Houston EMS and Houston County Sheriff’s Office.
