My Teacher is Tops: Mrs. Ashlee Woods at the Academy for Classical Education

MACON, Ga. — Teachers put a lot of work into planning out their lessons so students will be engaged and have fun while learning.

Mrs. Ashlee Woods teaches gifted social studies at ACE.

She's been teaching for 12 years and has taught several grades but she says fifth grade is her favorite.

Woods says she loves building relationships with her students.

Mrs. Woods makes learning interactive by dressing up as historical figures to help bring history lessons to life for her students.

Student Ashlyn Donaghy wrote 13WMAZ an email nominating Mrs. Woods. She says her teacher makes the classroom come alive.

"Mrs. Woods always encourages us and often tells our class that if we work hard she knows that we can do it. I love how much energy she puts into teaching my class," Donaghy said.

Woods says she always wanted to become a teacher.

"I love teaching at ACE. We have an amazing staff, administrators are amazing, I'm going to cry. But my kids are amazing, they're here to learn and they allow me to teach them. We have fun," she said.

Congratulations Mrs. Woods!
