MACON, Ga. — A 49-year-old man was arrested for allegedly shooting and killing a man on Houston Avenue, according to the Bibb County Sheriff's Office.
They say Derrick Berry of Macon was arrested in the shooting of 44-year-old Tavores Maurice Pearson.
The shooting happened on Jan. 16 in the 3200 block of Houston Avenue and marked the seventh homicide on this stretch of road since 2020.
The sheriff's office says Berry was arrested by the Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force in Kennesaw on Thursday, but he was booked into the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center on Friday afternoon.
Berry is charged with murder and, as of now, he does not have bond.
