Woman arrested, charged with murder in death of man outside Macon hotel, Bibb County Sheriff's Office says

The shooting happened outside Haven Inn and Suites off Riverside Drive early Wednesday morning.

MACON, Ga. — A woman is in jail in connection to a deadly shooting outside a Macon hotel last week, according to a press release from the Bibb County Sheriff's Office.

Lakiesia Renee Wilson, 36, was arrested on Tuesday in the killing of 28-year-old Anothonio Dewayne McNeill outside the Haven Inn and Suites off Riverside Drive last week.

The shooting happened early Wednesday morning at around 3:30 a.m., the sheriff's office said.

They say Wilson was arrested at the Economy Hotel on Pio Nono Avenue just before 5 p.m. She is charged with murder and is being held without bond, the press release said

According to the shooting's Bibb County incident report, when authorities arrived at the hotel at 107 Holiday Drive North last Wednesday, a deputy found McNeill shot and several people standing around him. The deputy checked McNeill's pulse but couldn't find one, the report said.

They then secured the scene and asked if anyone had seen or heard anything. The bystanders said they heard three to four shots being fired, the incident report said.

They found several shell casings around McNeill.

McNeill was found to have a wound on the right side of his body and armpit air, one gunshot wound on his right forearm and another in his left hand, the incident report said.

Paramedics responded to the scene to treat the victim, but he would later die from his injuries. Deputy Coroner Richard Robinson pronounced McNeill dead on the scene. Robinson says the next of kin has been notified.

The press release does not say what led up to the shooting, and they note the shooting is still under investigation. They say if you have any information, you can call the Bibb County Sheriff's Office at 478-751-7500 or the Macon Regional Crimestoppers at 1-877-68CRIME.
