Man injured after leading deputies on chase, crashing car in Warner Robins

The Georgia State Patrol and Peach County Sheriff's Office are investigating.

PEACH COUNTY, Ga. — A man is getting treated for injuries after leading deputies on a chase and crashing his car on Monday, according to a press release from the Warner Robins Police Department.

Peach County Sheriff Terry Deese says the chase began at a convenience store near Highway 41 in Peach County around 4 p.m.

He says deputies recognized the driver 33-year-old Daniel Coker. Deese says there is a warrant out for his arrest for possession of methamphetamine in Putnam County and felony fleeing and attempting to elude a warrant in Bibb County.

When deputies approached Coker, he jumped in his car and sped away.

Around 3:55 p.m. the Houston County 911 center alerted the Warner Robins Police Department about Peach deputies being in pursuit of a suspect.

Warner Robins Police Department units and the Houston County Sheriff's Office responded to assist but were not actively involved in the chase.

The chase ended at S. Davis Drive and Russell Parkway where Coker's car crashed.

The extent of his injuries is unknown but he is being treated at Houston Healthcare.

The Georgia State Patrol is also investigating.

The intersection of Russell Parkway and S. Davis Drive is currently closed due to the investigation.
