Fourth person arrested, charged in February shooting where one man died

The suspect was taken into custody after a search and arrest warrant at a home in the 2200 block of Gray Highway.

MACON, Ga. — A fourth person is arrested and charged after a February shooting where one man died, according to a press release from the Bibb County Sheriff's Office. 

19-year-old Frederick Lewis Hill Jr. of Macon was arrested on Wednesday just before 10 a.m. 

He was wanted in connection to the death of 25-year-old Cortavius Hassan Ates. 

Hill was taken into custody after a search and arrest warrant at a home in the 2200 block of Gray Highway. 

He was then taken to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Investigations Headquarters for questioning and was later transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center.

He faces charges of aggravated assault, participation in criminal street gang activity and murder. He does not have a bond.

19-year-old Shamar Tyrell Stewart, 30-year-old Kendarrious Cone and 29-year-old Marion Curry have also been arrested and are facing charges in connection to the shooting.

Stewart is charged with aggravated assault, participation in criminal street gang activity and murder. 

Cone is charged with conspiracy to distribute marijuana, aggravated assault, and murder. Curry is charged with criminal street gang activity, aggravated assault, and murder.  

None of the men have a bond.

In February, Ates was found shot in an overturned car, according to the sheriff's and coroner's office. 

The shooting happened near the intersection of Jeffersonville Road and Roseview Street.
