The shooting happened around 6 p.m. on Wednesday night.

MACON, Ga. — Update, 4 p.m. Feb. 16:

We have an update on a shooting death this week on Macon's Montpelier avenue.

A Bibb County arrest warrant says the suspect, 43-year-old April Powell, is charged with murdering her sister.

The sheriff's office says it happened around 6 p.m. Wednesday on the 2300 block of the Avenue.

The warrant says Powell argued with Ernestine Frye and then shot her in the chest with a Ruger .380-caliber pistol.

The warrant doesn't say what the sisters were arguing about, but it says several witnesses saw the fight.

Frye died soon after, at a Macon hospital. She was 49.

Powell gave a Savannah address to authorities. She is being held without bond in the Bibb County jail, and is charged with murder.
