Neighbors describe home in Sunday's Triple Hill shooting as 'shot house'

Neighbors call the house at 1085 Triple Hill Drive a "shot house." They say it is a nuisance, and they could benefit from more law enforcement presence.

MACON, Ga. — The Bibb County Sheriff's office is still investigating why a man was shot and killed at a south Macon home on Sunday morning.

The victim is 42-year-old Clifford Browner.

Neighbors say that the home on Triple Hill Drive has long been a trouble spot and they want to see change.

Several neighbors say the sound of gunshots is common. They say almost daily from 5:30 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. parties happen at the home.

The neighborhood calls it a shot house, where liquor is sold illegally and people come to drink and party.

On Monday morning, there were beer cans and liquor bottles lining the street. Neighbors say this is common, and they have to pick it up.

They say the parties aren't just noisy they're a safety problem. They say shots are fired often, sometimes because of the fight and sometimes just to fire shots.

Neighbors say people of all ages attend these parties and lots of people show up. They say cars will line the streets and block people from leaving or entering.

People say this is a safety concern for elderly people on the surrounding streets in the case of an emergency.

Neighbors say they have called the sheriff's office and some have even gone to the house to complain, but nothing has happened. They say they need more of a sheriff's office presence in the neighborhood before the parties claim more lives.

Neighbors say they would benefit from a Shot Spotter Camera on the corner and they also think the city should take a closer look at the house. They say it's a nuisance and something should be done about it.
